The Battery Manufacturing Engineering team is opening new highways with our next-generation propulsion systems. Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO…

  • Lead the charge in battery technology transfer: Guiding new cell formats and architectures into production, optimizing for cost, efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Collaborate with product development: Defining specifications and ensuring the feasibility of battery pack systems.
  • Document and share best practices: Creating a comprehensive bill-of-process from manufacturing lessons learned.
  • Drive quality through mentorship: Leading the use of PFMEA and other quality tools.
  • Empower and train your team: Developing a high-performing and knowledgeable workforce.
  • Champion innovation: Identifying and implementing solutions that create a competitive edge.
  • Benchmark and seek out best-in-class manufacturing: Ensuring Ford remains at the forefront of battery technology.
  • Protect intellectual property: Securing Ford’s innovative processes and methods.
  • Assess technology readiness: Challenging assumptions and driving a disruptive mindset.
  • Oversee projects introducing new technology: ‘Go fast’, removing roadblocks, oversight/support from concept to full, reliable and simple industrialization
  • Support operations and launch teams: Ensuring smooth and safe rollout of new processes and resolving quality issues.
  • Leverage data and machine learning: Improving and controlling battery manufacturing processes through data analytics and crisp outcomes.
  • Champion the use of digital engineering tools : Move all engineering and verification of our facilities into the virtual space
