REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies, including electrochemical diagnostics and testing.
  • Experience in analysing impedance, thermal, and cycling data using a variety of approaches.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in Python or equivalent tools for data analysis; familiarity with non-Matlab/Excel workflows is preferred.
  • Experimental Design: Hands-on experience in designing and running experiments in a lab environment.
  • Communication: Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports and customer documentation.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and maintain a collaborative mindset.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2–3 years of industry experience in battery testing or diagnostics.
  • Master’s or higher degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrochemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering).
  • Familiarity with the battery manufacturing process and related technologies.
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles or technical sales support is a plus.
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and creative Battery Scientist/Engineer to play a pivotal role in advancing Sention’s diagnostic technologies. You will develop and refine cutting-edge battery diagnostic methods, design and execute new test programmes, and analyse performance data to drive innovation. Alongside your technical responsibilities, you will contribute to customer relations, support cross-functional teams, and ensure a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
This role is ideal for someone scientifically minded and passionate about innovation in the battery space and eager to contribute to a fast-growing startup.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Battery Diagnostics Development: Innovate new diagnostic methods and refine existing ones to enhance Sention’s capabilities.
  • Test Programme Design: Plan and conduct robust experiments to evaluate battery cells under various conditions.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse battery data using a variety of approaches to deliver actionable insights for product development and customer support.
  • Customer-Facing Support: Collaborate with product and sales teams to meet customer needs, including report writing and technical account management.
  • Safety and Compliance: Write SOPs and conduct risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside software and hardware teams to ensure alignment across projects.
