Description
SAIC is looking for a Battery Test Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years’ experience; Masters and 0 years’ experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the process.
  • US Citizenship

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Use of LabView and MatLab, C++
  • Prior experience supporting DoD and/or NSWC Crane
  • Computer Science strengths preferred to develop and maintain data pipelines using Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc. to analyze data and implement quality control checks
  • Use GitHub and Microsoft DevOps to implement version control of the created code
  • Ability to apply Physicist and Electrical Engineering skills to testing (not theoretical)
Responsibilities
  • Support airborne lot testing, and space applications, including programming files as well as supporting some vibration testing.
  • Become proficient in proper battery test methods, i.e. monitoring points, switching, circuit protections, wattage management, time correlation, etc.
  • Apply logical/practical physicist application focus, not theoretical focus
  • Perform Big Data analysis to obtain predictive analysis, identify indicators of known and emerging failure modes as well as better predict end of life characteristics of lithium-ion aircraft as well as space cells/batteries and chemistries of all batteries.
  • Assist other analysts in using these analytic platforms on occasion.
  • Present findings, approaches, and processes to the team.
