JOB OVERVIEW:

SAMLARC is seeking a Beach Club Manager who enjoys a fast-paced collaborative environment, has exceptional skills with people, is goal-oriented, possesses facility maintenance & recreational experience, and is organized and strategic. The ideal candidate will ensure the enjoyment and satisfaction of all aspects of the SAMLARC Beach Club, Swimming Lagoon, and the four (4) Community Pools through safe, clean facilities, fun amenities, and relevant programs for all members of the SAMLARC Community.
The ideal candidate will foster a team atmosphere focused on the growth & development of staff, strengthening positive vendor relations, and promoting the SAMLARC brand of quality, commitment, and values.
This is a management level position that reports to the Assistant General Manager for the Rancho Santa Margarita Landscape and Recreation Corporation. The Beach Club Operations Manager provides support to the Assistant General Manager, Community Executive Officer and the account through ensuring high operational efficiency, collaboration, and professionalism.
Compensation: $90-100k
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client’s property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client’s directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Planning, organizing, supervising, and administering aquatic facilities, activities including maintenance, contract administration, facility planning and development and recreation programming.
  • Supervising, evaluating, motivating, and training assigned staff.
  • Knowledge of implementing and monitoring a budget including program, operational, capital and reserve repairs and improvements, personnel, and equipment recommendations.
  • Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment including computer software programs
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in this position in the process of communicating with guests, associates, supervisors, vendors, and our clients.
  • Must be able to handle pressure and deadlines related to the job.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines, as well as work independently and prioritize time effectively. Must have the ability to make decisions and solve problems creatively.
  • Must work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, title or other respectful identifier, and; respecting the diversity of the operations workforce in actions, words and deeds.
  • Must be a creative problem solver.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Bilingual Spanish helpful.
  • Excellent general math skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Park and/or Recreation Administration, Sports Management or Business
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in facility maintenance, property management or trades work including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to visit and inspect recreation facilities and job sites.

  • Must be mobile enough to move around within the office and throughout the venue.
  • The vision requirements include ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, close and distance vision.
  • Ability to walk association areas and visually review building areas and aquatic facilities to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Full time exempt position. Regular schedule is Monday through Friday, dependent on company needs and workload. There are occasions when it is necessary to work various holidays, community events and weekends. Attendance at evening meetings required. Hours over and above 40 per week will occur. As an exempt status employee, the candidate is required to be available via cell phone for emergencies.
  • There are times when employees may be required to work hours outside of, or in addition to the scheduled working hours. Supervisors schedule according to the needs of the client and provide as much notice as possible whenever there is a requirement to reschedule. FirstService Residential considers schedule preferences however business needs may require necessary schedule changes.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
  • The work environmental characteristics are normal office conditions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train all onsite associates as necessary; monitor subcontractors in the areas of performance, contract compliance, work orders, supply purchases, safety, and security.
  • Prepare and/or oversee the preparation and conduct of all performance reviews as required
  • Enforce all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Supervise and/or oversee the supervision of contractual agreements with vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure, receive and approve service requests and related work orders, in accordance with established procedures.

Beach Club Customer Service

  • Train and supervise staff to consistently demonstrate outstanding customer service

  • Provide written information and tours of the Beach Club.
