Provide services to residents, club members, and hotel guests using the beach and pool facilities. Primary Responsibilities: * Prepare room for dining by setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils * Protect establishment and members by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies * Assist members select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions * Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations * Process orders to the kitchen by recording members' choices; identifying members' special dietary needs and special requests * Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression * Serve orders by picking up and delivering members' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars * Respond to additional member requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process * Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to member spills or other special needs * Properly open and pour wine at the tableside * Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting members to return * Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host; returning change or credit card and signature slip to members * Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Provide welcoming phone greeting and following ordering procedures * Convey menu information over the phone to member/guest and give accurate estimate of delivery time * Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor * Assist with special events as needed * Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently * Promptly address member/guest service issues and refer to management when necessary * Additional responsibilities as assigned Job Qualifications / Requirements * Education: High school diploma or equivalent * Experience: 2 years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in casual style/family restaurant * Bilingual English Spanish preferred * Knowledge of food regulations and health department standards * Adheres to all professional appearance standards * Walking/Standing for long periods of time and extended distances * Frequently lift/carries up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 40 pounds * Must be able to reach hands and arms in any direction * Must be able to kneel and stoop repeatedly * Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills Skills * Excellent verbal and written skills * Basic math skills * POS efficiency * Active listening * Service-oriented * Good telephone speaking and listening ability Working Conditions * May be indoor or outdoor setting * Varied weather conditions are expected * Varying scheduled to include evenings, holidays, weekend and extended hours as business dictates Equal employment opportunity Drug free workplace
