Work Shift Day (United States of America) Bed Control Liaison Part Time Day Shift 7a-3:30 pm Monday-Friday and every other weekend The Environmental Services Bed Control Liaison will collaborate with Bed Control Specialists and Environmental Services leadership to allocate the correct EVS personnel to the areas in most need, to ensure timely room turnover and patient bed availability. This position works in collaboration with the Command Center team to assist in the placement of the right patient in the right bed at the right time. Assists in oversight and management of discharged rooms by reducing time lags in the bed turnover process to ensure patient is placed in assigned bed within responsible time limits. Must have excellent computer, telephone and customer services skills. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Major responsibility in Command Center * Work in collaboration with all Command Center personnel to allocate correct EVS personnel to areas in most need to ensure timely room turnover and appropriate patient bed placement. * Collectively work with Command Center personnel in evaluating admissions, transfers and bed placement request for appropriate placement of patients. * Ensure timely bed availability for Stat, patient assigned and critical care patient rooms. * Identifies and presents recommendations to improve problem resolution, decision-making and quality. * Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position. * Demonstrates de-escalating techniques in daily responsibilities. * Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationship with staff and customers. * Adheres to the requirements of HIPPA policy and procedures. Major responsibility within Environmental Services * Provides strong support and effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within department, with other departments and with the hospitals primary function. * Meets departmental and facility goals. * Oversee and continuously monitor quality and quantity of the daily assignments and activity of team, * and redirecting as required. * Supports department PI projects and participates in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI projects * and activities. * Practices and ensures the consistent use of AIDET scripting. * Use appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively perform Service Recovery. * Ensures proper use and care of equipment. Computer Skills * Basic computer knowledge is required. * Proficiency utilizing Epic Production. * Proficiency in the use of word and excel needed for data collection, monitoring, analyzing and presentation. Multitasking Abilities * Position requires utilization of telephone and computer simultaneously. * Creativity utilizing resources with the ability to think outside the box to meet the needs of Patients. * needing ICU beds, patient assigned beds and STAT beds. * Know when to ask for assistance from Supervisor, Manager and Director. * Use of customer service skills is required for the position. Customer Service * Use appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively perform Service Recovery. * Conducts in- patient interviews and room inspections to ensure patient satisfaction. * Participates in performance improvement projects as required. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma Other or GED Other or Associates Other-Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 3 years work experience Required and in healthcare or hospitality Preferred Required Minimum Skills: Computer, telephone, multitasking, customer service.
