Description We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Beer Specialist to join our beverage team. This role is responsible for driving beer sales, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining outstanding merchandising standards, and educating customers about craft, import, and domestic beers. If you enjoy working with people, staying active, and being part of a team, this could be a great fit for you! “There are no strangers here, only friends we have yet to meet.” — Frank Oakes — Requirements Key Responsibilities: • Provide expert recommendations on beer styles, brands, food pairings, and seasonal selections. • Maintain clean, fully stocked, and well-organized beer displays. • Manage product rotation, freshness checks, and date control to ensure quality standards. • Assist with ordering, receiving, pricing, and inventory management. • Execute promotions, displays, tastings, and seasonal resets. • Stay current on beer trends, new releases, and emerging craft breweries. • Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors and distributors. • Support department sales goals and overall store standards. • Ensure compliance with all local and state alcohol laws and company policies. Minimum Qualifications: • Strong knowledge of beer styles (IPA, Lager, Pilsner, Stout, Porter, Sour, Belgian, etc.). • Passion for craft beer, imports, and specialty selections. • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Retail experience preferred (beer, wine, spirits, or specialty foods a plus). • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. • Must meet legal age requirements to sell alcohol. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods. • Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, humid, and cold environments. • Ability to tolerate moderate levels of dust and cleaning agents. • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and move as needed throughout the shift. • Ability to use step-stools or ladders safely and maintain balance while performing tasks. • Manual dexterity sufficient for handling products and operating equipment. • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a busy environment. • Adequate vision (near, far, and peripheral) and hearing to safely perform job duties.
