In this dynamic role, you’ll supervise and mentor a team of staff and volunteers, plan and lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all children and families. You’ll be responsible for child-centered programming, active supervision, conflict resolution, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and community partners. Additional duties include preparing healthy snacks, maintaining a clean and professional space, and handling administrative tasks such as payroll and budget tracking. If you’re a strong communicator with a heart for inclusion and leadership, we’d love to hear from you!   Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will: * Collaborate effectively with team members to foster an inclusive environment that offers support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs to fully engage in the program. * Provide individualized support to children as needed within the program setting. * Contribute to a community culture of inclusion by recognizing and supporting each child’s unique strengths and areas for growth. * Support children in resolving conflicts and consistently model respectful, positive behavior. * Assist in the creation, implementation, and ongoing review of individualized care plans to ensure consistent and responsive support. * Help maintain an enhanced staff-to-child ratio to ensure all children receive the attention they need, including one-on-one support when appropriate. Qualification-you bring: * Must be at least 19 years of age * Experience working with children 5 – 12 * Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED * 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition an asset * Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references  * Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.    About YMCA BC: By igniting belonging and championing health equity, YMCA BC strengthens the foundations of community.
