POSITION OVERVIEW

Tiny Hearts Childcare Centre is seeking a caring and responsible Early Childhood Assistant to support our licensed Before and After School program. The successful candidate will work alongside our team to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for school-age children. This role is a split shift (morning and afternoon) and includes a shift premium in recognition of the schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with children (school-age preferred).
• Willingness to obtain Standard First Aid & CPR Level C within 3 months of employment.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (clear), completed within 3 months of employment.
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by the Ministry of Education.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Dependability and flexibility to work split shifts.

• Provide active supervision and quality care for school-age children before and after school hours.
• Accompany and supervise children walking safely to and from school.
• Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that encourage children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all children and families.
• Model positive interactions and encourage cooperative play and problem-solving skills.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and Ministry of Education licensing requirements to ensure health, safety, and well-being of children.
• Collaborate with the program team to ensure smooth daily routines and transitions.
