Description
The Behavioral Response Safety Coordinator (BSC) is a frontline member of the Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT). This role is responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff during behavioral health crises. The BSC provides rapid, skilled support in de-escalation, crisis intervention, and safe patient handling, working collaboratively with nursing, physicians, security, and behavioral health specialists. Education Bachelors Degree from an accredited program in human services, which includes but is not limited to: Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Pastoral Counseling, Education or Family therapy (Required) or Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree (Required) Experience 3 years experience in behavioral health patient care, with demonstrated skill in managing behavioral health crises (Required) 1 year experience in leadership, supervisory, or team lead role (Required) Demonstrated experience in crisis prevention training programs (Handle with Care, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), MANDT, MOAB, or other crisis de-escalation models (Required) General Experience in behavioral healthcare setting with exposure to trauma informed care principles (Required) Previous experience with and participation in response teams (code response, rapid response, behavioral emergency response team) (Required) Previous experience conducting staff training or mentoring in crisis response and safety techniques (Preferred) Previous experience with performance improvement projects related to patient safety and workplace violence (Preferred) Previous experience or training in Lean Six Sigma, quality improvement methods, or safety event analysis (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (Required)
