Description A Behavior Interventionist is required to perform the following duties: Clearly communicate all student behavioral, academic and attendance policies and procedures to relevant parties Communicate and collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, and school administrators on an ongoing basis Motivate, support, and seek to inspire students to achieve high levels of academic success Address student discipline and attendance problems with a level of responsiveness appropriate to the severity of the problem Provide effective follow-through in a firm, fair, and consistent manner around school culture and student discipline policies and plans; provide additional interventions and/or supports to students who demonstrate an unwillingness to comply with policy Collect, interpret, manage, and utilize data in order to best support student progress and behavior Collaborate with security personnel to design and implement a building security plan; maintain daily communication with campus security personnel Participate in staff meetings Participate in staff development opportunities Ensure the security of computer equipment and accessories Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate by the Principal REPORTS TO/TERM: Principal This is a full-time 10-month position. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred with at least 24 credit hours in content area At least two years’ experience working with urban children PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in Mild Intervention
Responsibilities
The Behavior Interventionist is responsible for communicating student behavioral, academic, and attendance policies, and collaborating with teachers and administrators. They will also address discipline and attendance issues, provide support to students, and manage data to support student progress.
