BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN III- NEW BRIGHTON

Full Time and Part Time Shift Available! Needs to have 2-5 years of experience

• Monday- Wednesday and every other weekend 8am-4pm (FT)

*EXPERIENCE WITH HIGH BEHAVIORS AND ELOPEMENT IS A MUST!** APPLICANT MUST HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF POSITIVE SUPPORT STRATEGIES AND EFFECTIVE PHYSICAL INTERVENTION TECHNIQUES. EXPERIENCE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES PERFERRED.

This is an experienced Behavior Technician position with a 1:1 staffing ratio offering specialized services to individuals with mental illness and/or challenging behaviors. The staff in these homes are experts in utilizing strength-based strategies to promote and reinforce healthy behaviors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

You must be able to perform all physical skills required by Enriched Living Positive Supports Training. This includes the ability to perform and emergency use of manual restraint, both standing and in the supine position, as well as other skills.
This is a Level 4 home, and all Behavior Technician candidates will need to have one of the following qualifications to be considered red:​
· No degree – min. 5 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
· Associates – min. 3 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
· BA – min. 2 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports

• Provide crisis prevention/intervention services to the individuals served.
• Monitor the individual(s) supported for symptoms of decline, crisis, medication side effects, and to intervene when necessary.
• Incorporate the CSSP and CSSP Addendum into daily interaction with the individuals served.
• Assist the individuals served with problem solving.
• Maintain complete and professional documentation.
• Participate in scheduled and spontaneous recreational events, medical appointments, family events, psychiatric appointments, and other activities of the person’s choice.
• Maintain clear, open, and honest communication with program management.
• Other duties as assigned.
