Responsibilities Collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support patient care in alignment with the treatment model of the unit. Administers prescribed nursing interventions under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). Collects and documents patient data, including obtaining vital signs, as directed by RN. Assists with the transportation of patients throughout the hospital. Provides support with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, hygiene, physical transfers, and cleaning up bodily fluids as needed. Delivers comfort measures including patient positioning and providing additional blankets or pillows. Ensures patient safety through the use of ordered restraints, fall prevention strategies, and environmental hazard checks. Applies correct body mechanics during patient positioning, transfers, and ambulation. Performs basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, pulse oximetry placement, and point-of-care lab testing, as directed by RN. Assists with the discharge process, including reinforcing discharge instructions provided by the RN. Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, families, EMS, and hospital staff. Maintains a therapeutic and safe environment within the behavioral health milieu. Accurately documents significant behavioral observations and interactions in the patient's electronic medical record (EPIC) to support treatment progress. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Training or coursework in behavioral health field preferred. Experience: One year of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting or related experience required; two year’s preferred. Acute care experience preferred. Skills: Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Licensure BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
