Hiring Agency: Correctional Services - Agency 46 Location: Lincoln, NE Hiring Rate: $34.820 Job Posting: JR2026-00022699 Behavioral Health Practitioner Supervisor I - Mental Health - Reception and Treatment Center (Open) Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed): Job Description: The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Practitioner Supervisor I to lead a clinical team at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC) in Lincoln. This role is central to the mission of “Keeping people safe” by managing mental health services within a correctional environment. Core responsibilities include clinical leadership, program management, and operational excellence. For more information about this position, call 402-471-2654. DUTIES: Plan, organize, and direct mental health and substance use programs, including the development of strategic goals and action steps. Supervise Behavioral Health Caseworkers. Monitor program operations, evaluate deficiencies, and ensure all clinical documentation meets regulatory standards. Identify and request necessary staffing, equipment, and material resources for the department. Provide administrative and clinical supervision for licensed and provisionally licensed practitioners (LMHP/PLMHP and LADC/PLADC). Develop evaluation standards, conduct performance reviews, and provide staff counseling and mentorship. Educate subordinate staff and NDCS employees on clinical principles, facility policies, and therapeutic procedures. Deliver psychotherapy and counseling services to both individuals and groups. Complete timely assessments, progress notes, and treatment records for assigned incarcerated individuals. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Nebraska License as Mental Health Practitioner. Legal Requirements: Licensure requirements pursuant to Nebraska State Statutes 38-2122 and 38-316. Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience. Possesses a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP). Experience working with criminal offenders and Serious Mental Illness (SMI). Bilingual skills in Spanish/English desired and assessed. Other: Proof of licensure and transcripts required upon acceptance of a job offer. Must submit a security background check.
