Overview Shift: Monday–Friday, rotating 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM / 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM Join our team at the Robert Young Center as a Behavioral Health Professional/Counselor! This position is responsible for providing direct evaluation, counseling, and education services to individuals in treatment. You will facilitate comprehensive case planning for clients and their families, maintain accurate documentation of client involvement in treatment, and support overall continuity of care. In addition, this role serves as a team leader for substance abuse counselors, assists the Manager, and actively participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning. Supervision is provided by the Manager of CADS Residential and Outpatient Services or the Manager of Riverside Residential and Outpatient Services. Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities Provide substance use assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, and treatment planning to support client recovery. Deliver education and consultation services to clients, families, and support systems. Coordinate care through referrals, case management, and collaboration with internal and external providers. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and consult with professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Complete required toxicology screenings and support monitoring of client progress. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation of all services and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards (DASA, CARF, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other federal/state requirements). Qualifications Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Services License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons, attained within 3 months of employment. One of the following certifications listed below: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Licensed Professional Counselor Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker within 2 years of employment in the state they are working. Experience: 2 years of experience in the field of substance abuse is preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. *Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs.
