Position Title: Behavioral Health Technician Department: Psych Holding Unit Location: Riley Hospital, Indianapolis, IN Shift: Full-Time (Dayshift)     Position Overview: The Behavioral Health Technician provides essential basic care and maintains the safety and security of patients under the supervision of the professional behavioral health team. This role involves making trained observations, reporting findings to the mental health team, participating in group therapy sessions, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The technician may also perform basic triage duties as assigned, supporting the overall mental health care delivery.   Key Responsibilities:   Provide basic patient care and ensure the safety and security of all patients.   Conduct trained observations and report findings accurately to the mental health team or designated staff.   Attend and actively participate in group therapy sessions.   Assist with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients as directed.   Perform basic triage duties when required to support clinical operations.   Qualifications & Requirements:   High School Diploma or GED required.   Associate’s Degree preferred.   Requires 1-3 years of relevant healthcare or mental health experience.   Basic computer skills required.   Additional Details:     This recruitment is for one full-time 0.9 FTE position for dayshift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).   Schedule includes every third Saturday and Sunday, plus two major and two minor holidays.   Orientation consists of approximately 10 shifts.   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To learn more about our benefits, visit: IU Health Benefits [https://careers.iuhealth.org/pages/benefits-designed-for-you] Interested?
