About the Role: The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and managing crisis situations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. The technician is responsible for maintaining accurate and thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards. They collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute discharge plans that promote long-term recovery and stability. Ultimately, the role aims to enhance the quality of life for clients by delivering compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health support in a structured environment. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a related field preferred. * Experience in crisis intervention techniques. * Strong understanding of mental health conditions and treatment protocols. * Certification in CPR and First Aid. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related health care field. * Previous experience working with children or adults with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED). * Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. * Additional training in trauma-informed care or crisis management. Responsibilities: * Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate client needs and progress. * Implement individualized treatment and discharge plans in coordination with clinical staff. * Provide crisis intervention and management to de-escalate emergency situations safely. * Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. * Support clients with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) through therapeutic activities and monitoring. * Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care delivery. * Monitor client behavior and report changes or concerns promptly to the clinical team. Skills: The required skills such as clinical documentation and crisis intervention are essential for accurately recording client progress and effectively managing emergency situations to ensure safety. Clinical assessments and mental health knowledge enable the technician to evaluate client needs and contribute to personalized care plans. Skills in discharge planning support the transition of clients to appropriate levels of care, promoting sustained recovery. Maintaining documentation is critical for legal compliance and communication within the healthcare team. Preferred skills like familiarity with EHR systems and trauma-informed care enhance daily efficiency and improve client interactions by fostering a supportive and informed environment.
