Position Summary: A Behavioral Health Technician, under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. * Will assist in meeting the needs of behavioral health patients. * Maintain constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s). * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Education requirements: * Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent is required. * Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. Handle with Care within 45 of hire. * Behavioral Health experience preferred. Required Skills: * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. * Assists patients with performing activities of daily living. * Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions. * Observes and records patient behavior and activities. * Reports any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan. * Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of nursing staff, the technician provides direct patient care and helps maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for behavioral health patients. This includes maintaining constant direct observation, assisting with daily living activities, and observing and recording patient behavior.
