Summary: In addition to performing the role of a BHT, the BHT Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of clients and other BHTs while on duty. The BHT Supervisor ensures that clients and staff follow protocols and reports issues to the Program Director / BHT Manager and others as needed. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Supervises Behavioral Health Technicians and provides feedback on their performance. Orients and trains new staff to the unit and program. Assists with interviewing and hiring BHTs. Communicates with staff either verbally or in written communication logs. Assists with employee corrective actions and development. Develops employee schedules as applicable. Conducts employee performance evaluations as applicable. Assists with interventions with clients. Assists with the confiscation and inventory management of client items. Evaluates training needs, department performance, system changes, and client concerns, etc. Coordinates activities including lectures, recreation, and meetings. Follows objectives of treatment plans. Schedules BHTs to attend trainings. Attends facility meetings and coordinates BHT department meetings. Attends treatment team meetings, shift changes, and company meetings as required. Completes all required trainings. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous clinical experience preferred. Behavioral health experience or general healthcare experience preferred. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must seldom carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
