This approach to care provides respectful, compassionate, culturally safe, and responsive care that meets the needs, values, beliefs, and preferences of the patient, their family, and others identified as significant to their life from diverse backgrounds and settings.​ POSITION SUMMARY Integrated Care Solutions - NRIO, a division of Bayshore Healthcare Ltd., is seeking a qualified Behavioural Analyst consultant, who will work as part of a team supporting clients – within NRIO’s residential rehab programs, hospital contracts and/or community and Transitional Care Units across the GTA – who are experiencing behavioural and psychological symptoms resulting from neurological impairment, dementia and/or acquired brain injury (ABI). The Behaviour Analyst along with clinical leaders will complete client observations and assessments, recommend appropriate interventions, model strategies, and assist with transitions across sectors. The Behaviour Analyst will also assist with capacity building through the development and training of front-line staff, including regulated and/or unregulated health professionals. In addition, providing direct behavioral therapy support to clients as assigned. Please note, as this is a consultant position, there is no minimum guaranteed hours of work. Education / Licenses / Certification Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or Psychology Registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) Membership in good standing with the Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis (ONTABA). Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) Certification, or be able to prove that this certification is underway Standard First-Aid + CPR-C Vulnerable Sector Check Professional Liability Insurance Experience Minimum 2 years conducting behaviour assessments, developing behaviour interventions and analyzing data using ABA principles Use of standard psychogeriatric assessment tools and behavioural, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental assessments relating to responsive behaviours Demonstrated experience working with dual diagnosis is considered an asset Other Skills and Abilities Expertise and knowledge of working with individuals with various types of dementia, delirium, and those with acute behavioural change Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others Excellent clinical-reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills Effective assessment, intervention, client centered and collaborative care planning skills Experience providing caregiver education, support and counselling relating to caring for a person with responsive behaviours Creativity, flexibility, positive attitude Strong communication skills (oral and written) Technological proficiency: use of MS Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Ability and willingness to travel in the Toronto Sub Regions as needed (Durham Region: Pickering, Oshawa, North York) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Apply Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles to design and implement function-based interventions. Develop, monitor, and supervise Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), including objectives, data collection, and analysis. Conduct Treatment Integrity Checks (TICs) to ensure accurate implementation of BSPs/BCPs. Perform comprehensive clinical assessments using a bio-psychosocial approach to identify factors contributing to responsive behaviors. Evaluate risks associated with maladaptive behaviors during client intake and develop mitigation plans. Collaborate with clients, care partners, and the circle of care to create and disseminate individualized behavior management plans across community and long-term care settings. Maintain full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of client behavioral assessments, treatment, and programming in compliance with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO). Recommend additional treatment by other professionals when appropriate. Provide clear direction and support to managers and front-line staff, including treatment modalities, scripts, strategies, and techniques. Deliver 1:1 or small group training sessions for direct support staff and/or client family members. Participate in NRIO’s Interactive Staff Training sessions (biannually) and site-specific behavioral management training as needed. Attend case conferences and prepare required reports within designated timelines. Ensure client rights are protected and advocate on behalf of residents/clients. Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures and maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information. Ensure compliance with FSRA SABS licensing (Bill 65), including Principal Representative authority, financial transparency, records management, and stakeholder communication. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and proactive Health & Safety activities, reporting any risks or concerns to the immediate supervisor. Stay current with clinical best practices and evidence-based interventions through ongoing internal and external continuing education. Complete other tasks as requested. Ready to join us?
