Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (or in process of obtaining certification).
  • Relevant degree e.g. Psychology, Social Services/Social Work, Child and Youth Work and/or post-graduate certificate in Behavioural Sciences or Autism Behavioural Science.
  • In-depth knowledge of behavioural individual treatment and group programming e.g. data collection, data tracking, graphing, formulation, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of ABA principles.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Experience using individual and group counseling skills e.g. CBT, DBT, SFT and Family Therapy.
  • Willingness to work 1-2 evenings per week.

Responsibilities
  • Complete behavioural assessments using a bio-psychosocial approach e.g. Functional Analysis.
  • Develop individualised behavioural support plans in partnership with clients and their families to improve safety, learning and skills.
  • Provide direct behavioral services to clients, based on ABA principles.
  • Provide mediation in the areas of communication, behaviour management/emotional regulation, social/interpersonal skills and daily living.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress.
  • Engage in discharge planning in collaboration with the Aftercare Team.
  • Co-facilitate inpatient group programming and outpatient individual/group counselling services.
  • Provide education and consultation to clients, families, the multidisciplinary team and community agencies.
