JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with children and their families to assess behavioral challenges and develop effective intervention strategies. Your expertise will help improve the quality of life for those you serve, fostering positive behavioral changes and supporting their overall development.

SKILLS

  • Experience working with children in a clinical or educational setting is essential.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with neurodivergent affirming and assent-based practices is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive behavioral assessments using various tools and techniques (e.g., functional behavior assessments, observations, interviews).
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and track progress. Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or eligibility for certification preferred (Supervision for Fieldwork Requirements Available) .
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with neurodevelopmental or neurodiverse needs, is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques, including data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and creative problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Current professional liability insurance
  • Alberta driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Recent clearances: Vulnerable Sector Check & Child Intervention Check

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
