ABOUT THE ROLE:

An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in Rotherham is seeking a compassionate and committed Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral support team from September 2025. This is a full-time, highly rewarding opportunity—ideal for individuals with a background in education, youth work, care, or similar settings involving young people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support, helping students develop emotional regulation skills, manage behaviour, and re-engage with their learning
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviors
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and families to implement effective, individualized behaviour support strategies
  • Support the creation of a calm, respectful, and inclusive school culture
  • Monitor and record behaviour patterns to assist with intervention planning and progress tracking
  • Facilitate the reintegration of students back into the classroom following incidents or time out
