Description
Company Description Welcome to Ability Action Australia! 👋 Welcome to Ability Action Australia, where we help NDIS participants (0–65 years) get more out of life, more independence, more confidence, more growth, more wins. Every day, we’re in the community helping people do life better… and honestly, it feels pretty epic. 🚀 Job Description 💼 The Role (AKA: The Hero Cape You’ll Be Wearing) As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll be a supporter, a strategist, a behaviour detective and occasionally the person who teaches everyone to breathe again after a meltdown. You’ll be doing things like: ✨ Evaluating, developing & delivering evidence-based support plans ✨ Creating meaningful goals using a positive behaviour support framework ✨ Building capacity in the people who support our participants, families, carers, friends, support workers ✨ Working alongside a brilliant multidisciplinary team ✨ Championing the reduction (and elimination!) of restrictive practices And, because we like to keep it real: 👉 This is NOT a stepping stone job to becoming a psychologist. 👉 It’s a meaningful, legitimate, highly skilled career all on its own. If you want to be a Psychologist one day? Amazing. But PBS is not the warm-up act. It’s its own headline show. 🎤💥 🙌 About You You’ll thrive with us if you: ✔ Have a degree in OT, Speech Pathology, Social Work or similar ✔ Have experience creating, implementing & reviewing behaviour support plans ✔ Hold NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner status (suitable, core, proficient, advanced or specialist) ✔ Do NOT hold a BSP registration? It's ok, we can help you get there! ✔ Have a genuine passion for disability support ✔ Have experience working with challenging behaviours ✔ Love working with humans AND love writing (Yes, there will be paperwork) 🎁 What’s In It For You? Oh, we look after our people, big time. 🌈 Flexibility: YOU choose your hours 💰 Excellent remuneration: Generous salary, car allowance, laptop, phone + salary packaging 🏡 Work-life balance: Work from home, our office/clinic, cafés… or wherever your brain works best 📚 Career progression: PD, growth, pathways within Ability Action Australia & our MedHealth family 💙 Feel-good culture: Purpose-driven team, uplifting vibe, great banter 🚀 Feeling Excited? Because We Are! I’d love to chat with you. 👉 Apply now, OR 📞 Call me: Carla Morris on 0430 652 332 📧 Email me: [email protected] 🔗 Or connect with me on LinkedIn for a friendly convo: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carla-morris-52590138/ Become part of a team that changes lives, including your own. 💙 Additional Information You are welcome here. Our fast-growing team of more than 3,500 people around Australia represent a huge array of life experiences, skills and ways of thinking. We value all these differences. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, proudly welcoming people with disability including mental health conditions, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people from the LGBTQI community, veterans, carers and Indigenous Australians to our team. We are happy to adjust our recruitment process to support accessibility needs.
Responsibilities
