We are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner from Sydney who is looking for a tree change and able to move to Canberra ACT. If you have met the capabilities framework at a proficient level or above, you would be an ideal candidate for this role. · Working with a range of clients with a disability from 7 years of age and above, including complex needs clients.
· Undertaking comprehensive functional behaviour assessment.
· Training supports involved with the client including care teams, schools, and families.
· Developing evidence-based support plans within a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate &/or reduce restrictive practices, in the home and community.
· Ensuring individual plans reflect the NDIS participants’ goals, passions, and strengths.
· Building the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc.
· Working collaboratively within the team, including mentoring & supervision by experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners.
· Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice.
