Description:

NOW EDUCATION is acting on behalf of a SEMH school based in Leeds. We are recruiting for a number of Behaviour Support Workers to work with students across all Key Stages. These students all have an individual EHCP based around their SEMH needs (Social, Emotional, Mental Health).
You must have previous experience of supporting children or young adults within a classroom or care environment.
You must have excellent behaviour management and diversion and de-escalation skills. Team Teach trained would be advantageous for this role. Free Team Teach training can be provided to the successful applicant.

Previous experience of supporting people with learning needs, specifically SEMH, ADHD or Autism.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Class Teacher: Take direction from the class teacher and support where needed.
  • Support Students: Work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, providing them with the necessary support to thrive academically, emotionally and socially.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Individual Plans: Develop and follow individual behaviour plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • De-escalation: Use de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when necessary. (if you are Team Teach trained, this would be very advantageous when applying for this role).
