Responsibilities

THIS ROLE HAS A STARTING SALARY OF £32,512 PER ANNUM, BASED ON A 36-HOUR WORKING WEEK. THESE ROLES ARE OFFERED AS FIXED TERM CONTRACTS FOR A YEAR.

This is a community facing role where you will work from the office but will also be required to visit family homes and school settings (when appropriate) to make observations and offer hands-on support. You will also be on call to respond to any ‘crisis’ situations across the county. We work from 2pm to 10pm Monday – Friday and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In this role, you will be provided with the opportunity to build your knowledge, experience and skills in supporting children and young people who have autism, learning disabilities and behaviours of concern. You will also work with the families of these children and young people.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will be assessing children’s behavioural functions and identifying appropriate strategies/environmental changes that can be implemented to reduce behaviours of concern. This will involve identifying on-going or long-term support needs.
