Behaviour Innovations is a dedicated private agency providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and young adults with autism and their families. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients through tailored interventions, training, and community support.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time Behaviour Therapist for approximately 20 hours per week. In this role, you will support individuals with complex behavioural needs within a residential care setting. The Behaviour Therapist will assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of individual Behaviour Support Plans (BSP). This involves development of programs to teach new skills, providing training to front-line staff, and collaborating with a professional team to enhance the quality of life for the individual clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of supervised experience in the field of applied behaviour analysis
  • Experience working with and supporting adults with developmental disabilities with complex behaviour needs
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in behaviour analysis, psychology, or equivalence, Master’s track in the field of applied behaviour analysis is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressure situations with ease.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Proactive problem prevention and issue resolution leadership ability.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound decision-making skills based upon company policies and philosophy.
  • Ability to give direction to others and foster the development of a team

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Behaviour Analyst (sBA) in bi-weekly supervisory meetings to address critical issues and contribute to planning.
  • Implement action plans as directed by the sBA.
  • Actively participate in relevant staff meetings, team meetings, and community planning sessions.
  • Liaise with program managers, coordinators, and other professional service providers such as physicians and mental health workers.
  • Collect, enter, and analyze data using Excel.
  • Oversee the programming for assigned clients.
  • Provide ongoing training, supervision, and support to front-line staff.
  • Spend a designated amount of time providing direct support to clients and staff.
  • Ensure fluid communication of programming changes to all relevant stakeholders
