Position: Behavioural Analyst
Number of Position(s): One (1)
Job Type: Permanent Full Time Unionized position (35 Hours/Week: Monday to Friday)

The Behavioral Analyst for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) clients in supportive housing provides individualized therapeutic interventions to residents with acquired brain injuries. The Behavioural Analysts role is to assist clients in achieving greater independence and improving their quality of life by addressing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges resulting from their injuries. This position involves working closely with clients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement tailored therapy plans in a supportive and structured housing environment.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT:
- Facilitate the development of coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and adaptive behaviors for clients to manage the challenges they face in everyday life.
- Support clients in enhancing their social skills, communication abilities, and daily living activities, with a focus on increasing independence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Ongoing registration with the College of Psychologists and Behavior Analysts of Ontario, or eligibility and willingness to complete registration is required.
- Three (3) years experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries or neurological conditions is highly desirable.
- One (1) year experience in working within a supportive housing or community-based program setting is a plus.
- Experience conducting behavioural assessments and creating individualized goal plans.
- Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of ABI, neuropsychological rehabilitation, and evidence-based behavioral therapies.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, policies, and regulations relevant to behaviour analysis and healthcare services in Ontario.
- Knowledge of community resources for individuals with mental health & addictions.
- Knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and client management software (EMHware).
- Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention.
SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to suit individual client needs.
- Ability to take initiative in independent practice, organizing and prioritizing tasks.
- Excellent written communication and ability to keep up to date documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify key issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong ability to collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to assess intervention effectiveness.
- Proficiency in using a client management software to effectively track and manage client interactions and keeping detailed records.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
This position requires full proficiency in English. Bilingualism is considered an asset (English/French).
