POSITION OVERVIEW: BELL PERSON PART TIME

DoubleTree by Hilton is a busy 490 rooms award winning hotel located in the heart of downtown Toronto near the City Hall. We strive to deliver great individualized and uncompromising service to every hotel guest that passes through our doors. We are currently looking for experienced Bell Person with a service oriented and caring attitude sophistication and a genuine smile that creates a warm, welcoming environment for our guests, to join our Front Office team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal
  • Additional languages spoken would be an asset
  • Must be neat, professional and well groomed
  • Must possess strong organization skills, attentive to details
  • Must be guest service focused
  • Must be a self motivator
  • Knowledge of the city would be an asset – attractions, restaurants, etc.
  • Previous customer service experience would be an asset
  • College diploma or University degree from a Hospitality related program would be an asset
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift heavy loads – guest luggage, parcels
  • Must be able to stretch, bend etc. repeatedly
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential
  • Must be able to work shifts – days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing; must stand for all of the essential duties
  • Frequent to constant walking between Bell desk and the guestrooms
  • Frequent bending involved in picking up luggage, placing luggage onto cart/rack
  • Frequent pushing/pulling bell cart filled with luggage; ranging from 10 lbs. - 22.5 lbs.
  • Occasional torso twisting when placing bags from ground onto cart
  • Able to forward reach when picking up bags off of bell cart and/or gathering bags out of the vehicle
