Bespoke Handrails and Staircases are looking for the right individuals to join our friendly team. We design and manufacture some of the highest quality stairs in the UK to bespoke design. The job will present opportunities to learn complex joinery methods and unique designs, as well as the chance to work both in the workshop and on-site as well as opportunities to run your own jobs, seeing the project through from start to finish.

WHO WE NEED

We are looking for a medium to highly-skilled bench joiners with preferable experience in staircase joinery (although training will be provided to the right tradesman), and using woodworking machinery. Often other bench joinery skills with a high-quality finish and an eye for detail such as carving and cabinet making have also proven to be successful backgrounds.
Opportunities for full-time, employed, and self-employed as preferred, with somewhat flexible hours. Workshop based in Basildon, Essex.

WORK WILL INVOLVE

Staircases: Manufacture of the highest quality bespoke staircases of all types particularly curved staircases to provide drawings, templates, and design information (training can be provided to quick learners to pick up these skills). We are looking for joiners who can deliver a high-quality finish, and preferably with a technical mindset, able to solve problems during manufacture and installation.
Handrails: Production of curved and wreathed handrails from supplied templates, including cutting and squaring wreaths and shaping/carving to profile.

REQUIREMENTS

• Reliably commute or relocate to Basildon for this job
• Minimum 3+ years of experience
• Speak English
• Work may also involve the installation of handrails and staircases on site, desirable to have a driving license and CSCS card.
