Job Title: Benefits Administration Assistant Salary: £26,556 – £28,764 per annum (pro rata if part-time) Grade: B Contract Type: Fixed Term 12 months contract Working Hours: 37 hours per week - Job share applications are welcomed About the Department Thurrock Council Revenue and Benefits Service has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join the team, that plays a key role in delivery of services to the residents of Thurrock. The Revenue and Benefits team is responsible for the administration of Council Tax, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support. We are seeking to recruit a forward thinking, highly motivated administration assistant with technical abilities and a desire to learn new skills. About the Role As a Benefits Administration Assistant, you will be responsible for: The daily administration of Revenue and Benefits documents/emails. Scanning and indexing documents onto the Revenues and Benefits Document management system Sorting through daily post and ensure timely return of documents to residents Capturing evidence provided by email to assist the Benefit team to assess residents eligibility to Benefits Replying to emails received externally and ensuring an accurate and timely response. To ensure destruction of documents within the specified time frame This role offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting the affective administration for the Revenues and Benefits teams. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who has: Excellent computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Office, Word and SharePoint.
