JOB TITLE Benefits Assistant PROGRAM Corporate REPORTS TO HR Director SALARY $21/Hourly  LOCATION San Benito, TX JOB TYPE Non-Exempt WORK SCHEDULE M-F / 9-5   General Description The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resources department.   ABOUT YOU You should be a person who enjoys working with people. Be well organized and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and projects at the same time. You should have the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Be an independent worker.    Minimum Qualifications * 1 year of experience in the Human Resource field  * Exceptional Oral and Written Communication  * Interpersonal Relations, Communication, Proactivity, Confidentiality  * MS Office Suite {Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint}   Preferred Qualifications * BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field * Bilingual in English and Spanish         WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING   HR Administration * Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.  * Maintains the departmental Human Resource email account. * Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.  * Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. * Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.  * Provides clerical support to the HR department.  * May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.  * Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.  * Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.  * Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.  * Performs other duties as assigned.   Benefits Administration Support * Assists with day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement (401k), and workers compensation.    ABOUT URBAN STRATEGIES Urban Strategies exists to equip, resource and connect faith- and community-based organizations so that all children and families can reach their full potential.
