Description
Job Description: This is a sensitive and essential position. Provides administrative and programmatic supervision for those who determine eligibility for assistance programs (Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and other financial programs), train, lead, and develop staff, and monitors case management services. Reviews case records and evaluates performance of staff, prepares reports, and serves on the agency management team. This is not a remote work position. Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s): Knowledge of current social, economic and health issues and trends; principles and practices of effective supervision; public assistance programs, policies, and regulations; the literature in the field of eligibility determination; casework supervision principles and practices; effective interviewing techniques; Working Knowledge of computer systems and standard office software to include the state Department of Social Services human services systems; Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and other financial assistance programs. Skill in operating a personal computer. Ability to work effectively with others; work independently; supervise effectively; manage workload; effectively communicate verbally and in writing; interpret laws, policies, and regulations; make sound decisions; develop and maintain good working relations with internal and external customers; train others; keep records. Employee must have a positive attitude and helpful demeanor, and exhibit a professional working relationship with staff, clients, and the community. Qualifications – Education, Experience, Licensure, and Certification: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field and human services program experience in a lead or supervisory capacity or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
