Job Summary: Benefits Administrator Responsible for ensuring that all clients obtain and maintain all benefits for which they are entitled, including but not limited to: Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Food Stamps, Annuities, and Old Age Pensions. The Benefits Administrator also provides education and support to clients, families, and MVDS employees in client benefit related issues. MVDS supports adults and children in Eagle, Garfield, Lake and Pitkin counties with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our work provides life span services for these individuals, their parents and family members, guardians, colleagues at work, neighbors, and friends to promote independence, quality of life, and rights protection. Responsibilities: Benefits Management – Apply for and maintain all federal, state, and county benefits (Social Security, Medicaid, Food Stamps, LTC, etc.) for eligible individuals, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met. Benefits Planning Service – Analyze and educate clients and their support network about the potential impact of employment-related income on the client’s public benefits; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial regulation compliance Representative Payee Duties – Fulfill all Rep Payee responsibilities, including managing income reporting, bill payments, trust oversight, and maintaining client eligibility for services. Documentation & Verification – Ensure accurate, up-to-date identification documents (e.g., Social Security cards, IDs, birth certificates) are on file for all individuals. Health Coverage Oversight – Confirm appropriate prescription drug and medical coverage and review medical bills to prevent incorrect charges to clients. Medicaid Compliance – Monitor client Medicaid status and account balances to avoid overages, complete redeterminations, and submit all required verifications. Financial Management – Reconcile collective bank accounts monthly, approve spending requests, oversee Room & Board payments, and manage monthly bills and personal needs funds. Client Communication – Communicate regularly with clients, families, guardians, and employers to explain benefits, eligibility, and compliance issues. Recordkeeping & Reporting – Maintain TCM log notes in the BUS system, track wage reports, and complete all relevant applications and reports on time. Physical Demands: Frequent walking, sitting, and use of hands; occasional standing, bending, driving, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Qualifications Education A BA/BS in accounting, business, social work, or related area preferred but not required; OR comparable work experience.
