Maimonides is currently seeking a Benefits Analyst to provide and administer overall benefits policies and plans in accordance with hospital policy, plan provisions, and government regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide policy interpretation and clarify procedures to HR and Department management.
  • Enforce the leaves of absence policy.
  • Respond to employees’ questions or concerns, examine leave of absence applications for accuracy, and follow up with the employee/supervisor as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisors and employees to ensure procedural compliance; coordinate communication and information flow between employees, departments, and the carrier. Research and resolve employee benefits issues.
  • Process Position Change Forms to Payroll and update PeopleSoft employee records.
  • Administer tuition reimbursement program for non-union employees in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Conduct new hire non-union benefits orientation sessions.
  • Advise and counsel employees, supervisors, and managers related to all aspects of employee benefits.
  • Process benefit plan enrollments and terminations in PeopleSoft.
  • Collaborate with HRIS and MIS to resolve carrier interface file issues and to obtain necessary data for ongoing carrier and invoice audit purposes.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working for an insurance company or in a company’s benefits department
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Good mathematical skills
