BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

This role focuses on managing and optimizing health and welfare insurance plans, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic insights to enhance employee benefits offerings. The ideal candidate will have experience in benefits administration, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of health insurance policies and regulations. Additionally, the role will play a crucial part in developing and rolling out educational communications to enhance employee awareness and understanding of health and welfare benefits, as well as wellness.

QUALIFICATIONSWHAT YOU NEED:

  • A bachelors degree in a related field or experience equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience with the appropriate skill set.
  • Advanced computer literacy and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Strong knowledge of H&W benefits program
  • Ability to develop and conduct benefits awareness programs
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Rigorous approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • HRIS & Benefits Systems Proficiency in relevant technology and platforms
  • Project & Time Management Effective multitasking in high-pressure environments

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid drivers license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 10% of travel
    Compensation starting at $56280 - $88000 depending on experience.
    The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidates relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the day-to-day administration and communication of MSC’s health and welfare programs.
  • Administer and analyze health and welfare benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness programs, etc.
  • Owns benefits billings and manage the reconciliation process for all invoices.
  • Provides timely and courteous resolution to all associate inquiries (H&W, 401k, etc), demonstrating best-in-class customer service
  • Manage annual open enrollment, including system testing, ensuring a smooth and effective process for associates.
  • Develop and implement educational communications, ensuring associates are well-informed about their health and welfare benefits, enrollment options, and policy changes.
  • Create engaging materials such as newsletters, presentations, FAQs, and digital resources to enhance associate awareness and understanding of benefits.
  • Assist with collaborating with vendors and insurance providers to negotiate and implement effective benefits solutions.
  • Analyzes benefit costs, provides insight into expense trends and works with internal and external parties.
  • Research and evaluate benefit trends, policies, and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA).
  • Assist with retirement plan transactions such as loans, deferrals, etc. for the 401k transactions and Canadian Retirement Plan
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management, supporting data-driven benefits decision-making.
  • Coordinate with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate benefits administration and deductions.
  • Works closely with vendors to implement enhancements, test changes, ensure compliance and reconcile issues.
  • Conducts audits to ensure that systems are in-synch. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates benefit plan data issues including internal HRIS, internal payroll, carrier and 3rd party systems
  • Participates in vendor meetings and provide follow-up as needed.
  • Documents and drives process improvement both internally within the H&W Team, cross-functionally throughout MSC and externally with our third-party partners and all our associates.
  • Completes transactions in MyMSC keeping records up to date.
  • Manages the Tuition Reimbursement Program and processing student verification as required.
  • Manages the Reward and Recognition programs, including but not limited to, analysis, special projects, and plan/program development
  • Provides support to HR Service Center as requested.
  • Trains / Assists with benefits onboarding as needed.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSCs vision and unity of purpose.
