Career Recruiting Specialists is partners with a major manufacturing company located in downtown Macon, GA. We are seeking an experienced Benefit Specialists The ideal employee will report directly to the Director of HR Manager. This is a direct hire/permanent position. Our company offers and excellent compensation/benefit package.

JOB SUMMARY

Accountable for the administration of the Company group benefits and leave of absence programs, managing the Open Enrollment process, and benefits communication initiatives; work closely with the Director Human Resources and benefits consultants regarding benefits analytics; serves as representative of benefits plans, programs and policies; interact with employees and third-party administrators (TPA) to ensure timely, accurate and quality service delivery; manage HR information system, including performance management process.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision;
  • A developed sense of urgency, the ability to multi task and complete task accurately;
  • Continued learning and development in Human Resources Management;
  • Must have advanced or superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word, PowerPoint);
  • Working knowledge of ADP or other payroll/HR information systems.

EDUCATION

4-year college degree presented by an accredited college or university or Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources with benefits administration

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Office or other indoor work; minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting/moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Administer health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations;
  • Processes required documents to/from insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping, proper payroll deductions, and billing accuracy; resolves discrepancies; processes billing for payment;
  • Serve as representative for all benefit plans and policies including health, wellness and leave of absence and coordinate with service providers, carriers and TPA’s for reporting, information requests, employee communication and events;
  • Interpret benefits policies and programs and provide timely information to employees and managers; educate employees on benefits eligibility and enrollment processes; respond to benefits inquiries;
  • Manage benefits enrollment process, benefit records, and prepare documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage; ensure all benefits files and records are maintained and organized in a relevant and timely basis;
  • Assist in proper completion of regulatory and compliance reporting as needed.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for 3rd party leave management administrator and employees regarding FMLA and short/long term disability including eligibility, policies, requests for information, and filing claims;
  • Prepares for audits of benefits plans; work closely with auditors to successfully complete audits on time;
  • Create and maintain updated new hire orientation benefits material, make presentations in orientation, enrollment and other meetings;
  • In conjunction with Director Human Resources, manage benefits renewals, annual open enrollment period and materials each year;
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate employee and company communication and education programs that support benefits in partnership with carriers and providers including printed, digital, web and mobile based information and materials;
  • Identify administrative challenges and opportunities for process improvement and present appropriate escalations including technology, work flow, efficiency, and cost reduction; actively participate in related projects as assigned;
  • Support finance and payroll with benefits and HRIS related matters, questions or issues; act as a benefit and HRIS liaison for these departments;
  • Audit bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls as assigned; stay current on payroll process & duties, and serve as a backup to run payrolls as necessary;
  • Manage and maintain performance management system; responsible for ensuring all performance reviews and ratings are completed and entered into the system accurately; resolve any performance management system issues accordingly;
  • Coordinate with health & safety representatives, insurance carriers and vendors to plan health and wellness initiatives;
  • Demonstrate ability to report to work on a regular and consistent basis; work safely; and follow company policies and procedures;
  • Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned or expected.
