POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Benefits & Wellness Administrator is an integral part of Redwood’s Human Resources team, supporting a multi-state workforce. This role provides expert guidance in managing employee benefits programs and wellness initiatives, ensuring our team members across all locations are well-informed and supported. As a key liaison between employees and benefit service providers, you will help uphold Redwood’s commitment to employee well-being, satisfaction, and operational excellence. All Redwood employees are expected to conduct all organizational business and practices in accordance to Redwood company policies.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness offerings.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process including planning, conducting employee educational meetings, communication, system configuration, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, providing timely and accurate guidance to employees and managers.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate benefits deductions and adjustments.
  • Maintain and audit benefits data within the HRIS to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party administrators to manage enrollments, resolve escalated issues, and ensure service-level expectations are met.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA).
  • Support the annual benefits renewal process, including data analysis, benchmarking, and plan design recommendations.
  • Coordinate the processing of new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, medical support orders, and COBRA notifications.
  • Maintain and update internal benefits and wellness resources across intranet and employee-facing platforms to ensure accessibility, relevance, and continued engagement.
  • Review and process Volunteer Time Off, Bereavement, Jury Duty and PTO Bank requests.
  • Manage ACA reporting and ensure timely distribution of 1095-C forms.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of benefits-related training and onboarding sessions.
  • Coordinate and promote wellness initiatives that support employee physical, mental, and financial well-being across all locations.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to plan and execute wellness campaigns, challenges, and educational sessions.
  • Track participation and engagement metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Support the integration of wellness strategies into broader benefits communications and employee engagement efforts.
  • All other related duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a multi-state organization
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits platforms (e.g., ADP or similar)
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Certification as a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or alike preferred
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating with benefits providers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. In this role, the employee will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, desk phones, iPhone, photocopiers, etc. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend and walk with the ability to lift 20 pounds where applicable.
