STATEMENT OF JOB:

The Benefits Coordinator position assists associates with benefit enrollments and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains associate database and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices. Oversees the worker’s compensation program, working with the locations and the third-party administrator.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required, associate’s degree highly desired.
  • 3+ Years’ experience working with associate benefit programs and knowledge of applicable laws required.
  • Experience with the administration of worker’s compensation programs and applicable laws.
  • Proficient working with ADP Workforce Now or similar systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Responsibilities
  • Administer various associate benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and wellness benefits. Assists associates with Life-Changing events and procedures. Assists and provides guidance to associates with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
  • Responsible for the setup of the benefit programs in the ADP Workforce Now system for open enrollment, new hires, and new locations. Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Conducts benefits orientations and explains benefits and the self-enrollment system. Provides training to Community leadership as needed.
  • Maintains associate benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Working with the locations, collects and manages premiums owed by associates while out on leave of absence.
  • Working with our broker, verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives as necessary.
  • Works with Broker to obtain statistics and information needed in renewal process of any health, life and benefit plans that benefit the company.
  • Oversees and works with our third-party COBRA administrator to ensure compliance with required notices.
  • Works with locations to set up meetings designed to help associates obtain information and understand company benefits. Ensures distribution of required associate notices.
  • Prepare biweekly/monthly reports for new-hires, leaves and terminations to ensure accuracy of benefit enrollments.
  • Ensures completion of benefits reporting requirements. Reviews form 1095 for all locations through the ADP system.
  • Oversees workers’ compensation claims with third-party administrator. Working with remote locations, reports new claims and assists with questions and follow ups. Oversees filing requirements and storing of documents. Works with and educates locations to meet OSHA requirements and Compliance.
