Are you a skilled Benefits and Leave Specialist ready for your next big career move?
THE RIGHT STAFF is excited to partner with a dynamic global distributor in search of a knowledgeable Benefits & Leave Specialist to strengthen their Total Rewards team. In this vital role, you’ll take ownership of employee benefits, leaves, and wellness programs - all while ensuring top-tier employee experience and full compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years of direct experience administering employee benefits programs, including managing leave of absence cases (in a self-funded insurance environment preferred).
  • Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce, ideally 1-2 years of hands-on use.
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local compliance requirements related to benefits and leave administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
  • Be the go-to expert for all things benefits, managing day-to-day transactions and inquiries within Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Welcome new hires with clear benefits overviews, seamless enrollment support, and thoughtful answers to their questions.
  • Conduct regular audits to guarantee benefit data is accurate and up to date across platforms and with carriers.
  • Oversee a variety of leaves (FMLA, disability, parental, military), collaborating with third-party vendors and HR colleagues to ensure every case is handled properly.
  • Partner with Payroll on benefit deductions, paid leave coordination, and collecting premiums during leaves.
  • Manage enrollment updates tied to life events, new hires, and departures for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and related plans across North America.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices monthly, investigating and correcting discrepancies promptly.
  • Support crucial compliance reporting like ACA and OSHA, maintaining meticulous, audit-ready benefit records.
  • Champion wellness initiatives, building a program that helps employees thrive.
  • Spot system improvement opportunities in Dayforce, collaborating closely with the HRIS team to drive efficiencies.
  • Oversee COBRA processes to stay ahead of regulatory timelines.
  • Lend a hand with workers’ compensation claims, communicating with providers and insurance contacts.
  • Play a key role in open enrollment: system testing, clear communications, proactive follow-ups, and thorough audits.
