The incumbent will: Provides leadership in process and execution of the Company’s benefits strategy, serving as a subject matter expert in benefit operations Coordinate the implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's health & welfare benefits programs. Administer policies and programs to promote overall employee well-being. Oversee Retirement, Leave & Accommodation, and Workers’ Compensation programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Benefits Technical Management Oversee the workflow of benefits implementation and operations to ensure optimal efficiency and maintain high standards of customer service Administer all health & welfare and retirement benefits plans and programs utilizing industry best practices to achieve consistency and standardization Oversee administration of the Company’s Retirement, Leave & Accommodations, and Workers’ Compensation programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws Assists in the resolution of escalated benefits issues and situations Provide guidance and support on all aspects of annual open enrollment Function as a subject matter expert, assisting with creation and documentation of benefits processes and policies, providing guidance on benefits best practices and advising on potential risks related to benefits decisions Identify tactical projects to streamline and optimize benefits administration and management; identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities internally and externally Maintain compliance and required reporting for federal and state laws and regulations, including but not limited to: ERISA, IRS, DOL, COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA, ACA and ADA; Identify compliance issues with plan documents, processes & procedures Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement a robust communication strategy that promotes employee understanding and engagement with benefits offerings. Cultivate and manage strong relationships with external vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure service excellence and strategic alignment. Provide consultative support within HR and to business units on benefits-related initiatives and policy interpretation. Partner cross-functionally with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive and compliant benefits operations. Team Development Support the Director, Total Rewards in the recruitment, development, and performance management of a high-performing Benefits team; foster a culture of expertise, accountability, and innovation. Mentor and coach team members to build strategic capabilities and enhance service delivery across the organization. Champion initiatives that elevate the role of Benefits within the broader HR strategy, aligning team goals with organizational priorities and employee experience objectives. Proficiency with / or the ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office Suite, the organization's HRIS and talent management systems, and vendor administration systems Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws. Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET— BENEFITS LEAD Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or a related field preferred. Experience: 5+ years’ relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in the administration of health, welfare, and fringe benefit programs required; Knowledge of regulations to ensure compliance. Mental: Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills; Self-motivated and directed with the ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment. Skills: Must have advanced working knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems and related software applications; Workday experience is a plus. Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and accurately complete multiple tasks. Travel: Minimal Licensure: N/A Vision: Normal: Consistent with standard workflow.
