Description

As the Pension & Benefits Coordinator, you are responsible for the general administration of the Superior Propane group benefit and group retirement programs for all eligible Canadian employees; including reconciliation of billing, and maintaining accurate HRIS records, audits, and education campaigns. You are the SME with respect to eligibility and enrolments, program design and provisions, and assist with carrier escalations while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless program administration, advocating for inclusion, and excellent internal customer service.
This role calls for excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate employee records (new hires, transfers, eligibility changes, terminations) are maintained in Superior’s HRIS (Dayforce) through weekly audits of internal records and vendor error reports, and complete manual administration for Teamsters plan enrolments
  • Monthly invoice reconciliation; coordinating with payroll, finance, vendors, and/or other stakeholders to help resolve any invoice inquiries
  • Act as the primary internal point of contact for issues, providing timely, accurate, and relevant responses to employee and carrier inquiries and provide subject matter expertise related to employee benefit programs to ensure our employees understand their benefit plans and how to navigate their benefits coverage through various life events
  • Support administration of pensioner life insurance claims and survivor benefits and preparation of parental leave option statements
  • Collaborate with the Payroll team to ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions and adjustments are processed in a timely, accurate manner
  • Assist with bi-annual group benefits enrolment and group retirement education initiatives, providing accurate data, coordinating and supporting plan member education sessions, auditing records, and ensuring delivery of exceptional customer service for Superior employees and provide documentation to support the regular audit cycle, prepare standard and ad hoc reports
  • Contribute to the improvement of benefits processes and initiatives to create a seamless and enhanced employee experience, including assisting in the development of communication tools and self-serve resources to enhance the understanding of the company’s benefits programs
  • Partner with Disability Management Specialists, Employee Experience and HS&E teams on the delivery of proactive health & wellness campaigns and virtual health promotion programs to help reduce costs associated with chronic illnesses such as, but not limited to, depression & anxiety, diabetes, heart health and high blood pressure.
  • Support the Manager, Rewards & Wellness with the writing of new standard operating procedures (SOPs), and amendments to existing SOPs related to pension & benefits administration
