POSITION PURPOSE The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, flexible spending, health savings account and worksite benefits.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES  1. Assumes responsibility for a variety of benefits duties. * Aid Prosperity Bank associates regarding benefit-related questions or concerns via phone, email and in-person as needed. * Assist with day-to-day operations of the benefit administration function and duties. * Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS system to provide the insurance carriers with the most accurate eligibility information.  * Advise associates of the details of the company’s benefits programs and notify them of any plan changes. * Assist with changes due to “qualifying life events,” beneficiary changes, address, name changes, etc. * Provide new hires with the benefits information and help them with the online enrollment process or answer any questions if needed. * Resolve any benefit related issues and respond to requests in a timely manner. * Process short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance claims as needed. * Work closely with insurance brokers, insurance carriers, and the Human Resource department regarding benefit related concerns.  * Provide information and reports to the insurance carriers and brokers for annual renewals. * Responsible for coordinating the annual open enrollment process with the insurance brokers and HRIS administrators. * Process the weekly discrepancy reports for all the insurance carriers and correct any issues if necessary. * Coordinate the COBRA activities with the third-party COBRA administrator. * Process over age dependent requests to ensure that they are removed from all benefit plans and that they receive their COBRA paperwork in a timely manner. * Assist HR associates with updating the Prosperity Bank HR portal to ensure it reflects the most accurate benefit documents and information. * Assist with completing the employer’s portion of the Medicare forms for associates and qualified dependents.       2. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. * Other duties may be assigned based on business needs or management’s requests. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: Associate or bachelor’s degree, but experience may be substituted for education. Required Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws required.   Knowledge of ACA rules and regulations. Experience Required: 2-5 years’ experience in benefit administration or relevant experience. Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines.  Computer literate with excellent customer service skills.  Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, Ability to manage priorities and workflow.  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.  Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with sensitive data and maintain strict confidentiality.  PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
