Job Description
The Benefits Specialist plays a key role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of MasterBrand’s benefits programs. This role is responsible for supporting benefits and 401(k)-related projects, including vendor evaluations, RFPs, and implementations, while ensuring alignment with the company’s philosophy and business objectives. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong project management skills, and deep knowledge of benefits design and compliance. This integral role partners closely with others on the benefits team and broader HR team to deliver a cohesive associate experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in the analysis, design, and implementation of benefits programs.
  • Experience in health and wellness plans and benefits administration is required.
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance related to health and wellness.
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication and execution skills are required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required – especially Excel.
  • Must possess strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and the ability to influence and communicate at all levels in the organization.
  • Well organized and confident to work independently but a strong team player.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and balance priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and execution of benefits strategies that align with organizational goals and workforce needs.
  • Support end-to-end RFP processes for benefits vendors, including assisting in drafting requirements, evaluating proposals, and supporting vendor selection.
  • Support benefits strategy and integration activities related to mergers and acquisitions, including plan harmonization, and transition planning.
  • Be involved in the implementation of new benefit programs and vendor transitions, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to employees.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement) and external partners to support company initiatives and projects relating to benefits.
  • Analyze benefits utilization, cost trends, and benchmarking data to assist in strategic decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support annual planning and budgeting processes for benefits programs.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure proactive compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvement opportunities utilizing our lean tools to prioritize, leverage technology, and streamline business processes.
  • Support initiatives that improve the employee’s experience creating the best place-to-work culture.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex benefits issues and strategic inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
