This position is responsible for working side by side with our benefits team and will be primarily handling leave of absences. The Benefits Specialist will also assist the team with any other benefit related tasks as needed.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Very High sense of urgency
  • Must be empathetic to others
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, HRIS and/or another applicable database program
  • Strong ability to communicate with a high level of service to all team members face to face, over the phone, and in written communication
  • Very Strong organizational skills
  • Be an innovative thinker with a “yes” mentality
  • On-site attendance required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HR Degree or HR/Benefit Experience
  • Experience with an HRIS system
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for handling all aspects of our leave of absences including FMLA, USERRA, and additional company leave types.


    • Meeting with Team Member to go over the leave process and provide all necessary documentation

    • Ability to work independently to assess and approve/deny such requests
    • Communicate effectively with the team member and leadership on status of the leave request.
    • Handle all aspects of the leave up until final resolution which would include approving or denying the leave in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert in FMLA, USERRA, ADA and workers compensation.
    • Processes and administers all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork.
    • Assisting with the administration of various benefit programs, such as group insurance, medical and dental, accident and disability, and health maintenance programs.
    • Preparing and maintaining team member benefit files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentially.
    • Organizing and taking part in meetings designed to help team members obtain information and understand company benefits and leave types.
    • Staying up to date with relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits administration.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for team members inquires and respond back promptly and effectively.
    • Will conduct quarterly audits and summaries regarding this role.
    • Recognizing the need to remain flexible and display a strong sense of urgency.
