    Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. We pride ourselves on the professionalism with which we pursue our goals and our strong links into our community.
    The Opportunity
    We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead one of our mobile maintenance teams. The Bengalla Maintenance Team is a multi-discipline team that is responsible for routine and planned maintenance as well as priority corrective maintenance on all plant and equipment at the Bengalla Mine.
    As a leader in the Bengalla Maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in day-to-day operation of the mine. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders in mining, engineering, and planning you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance is executed to a high standard and aligned with strategic needs of the business. You will lead the team responsible for safe and efficient execution of maintenance, providing leadership and direction with a focus on developing a safe, consistent, productive, and motivated crew aligned with our core values.

Responsibilities

  • Be a visible leader, pro-actively maintaining high expectations towards site safety standards.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholder within the mining and maintenance teams, to provide the best outcome for Bengalla.
  • Provide leadership to your team, setting clear expectations, upholding accountabilities, reviewing performance, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to procure necessary parts and equipment for repairs.
  • Identify and implement continual improvement strategies in safety and technical matters.
  • Report incidents, hazards, near-misses, and non-conformances and participate in incident investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mechanical or Electrical trade certificate and/or tertiary mechanical/electrical engineering qualification.
  • Previous HME maintenance supervisory experience within an open cut mining environment.
  • Heavy plant maintenance experience: 9020 Dragline, Liebherr and Hitachi Excavators, Hitachi and Komatsu Haul Trucks, CAT Ancillary equipment, and Drills.
  • Knowledge of relevant mining related legislation.
  • Ability to make data driven risk-based decisions.
  • Strong frontline leadership skills with effective written and verbal
  • communication.
  • Previous exposure and experience with a maintenance management system (preferably Pulse).
  • Completed or willingness to complete Effective supervisor training.
