As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues. You'll also measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers, and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment, learn, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries, partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects. Key Responsibilities Active participation in the development, optimization, and qualification of BEOL processes to meet performance, yield, and reliability requirements. Partner with process module engineers (e.g., etch, deposition, lithography) to improve device and yield performance in high-volume manufacturing. Work with cross-functional teams including end customers, FEOL/BEOL Integration, Device, Defect Reduction, Reliability, Quality, and external customers to support milestones and resolve technical queries. Design, execute, and analyze results from Design of Experiments (DOE) to solve complex process engineering issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement mitigation plans for yield or performance problems. Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on a wide range of complex process engineering experiments for multiple products, within safety guidelines Utilize techniques to characterize hardware, define methods and apply new technologies to characterize hardware, and/or perform hardware characterization on a wide range of complex systems for multiple products, within safety guidelines Functional Knowledge Experience in BEOL optics or semiconductor fabrication preferred Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or field Business Expertise Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services Leadership May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity Problem Solving Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions Impact Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives; work is guided by functional policies Interpersonal Skills Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view Additional Information Time Type: Full time Employee Type: Assignee / Regular Travel: Yes, 20% of the Time Relocation Eligible: No Applied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
