Description POSITION TITLE: HR Clerk DEPARTMENT: HR Department REPORTS TO: HR Director FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt PURPOSE: The mission of the HR Clerk is to facilitate operation of the Hiring Team by serving in a secretarial capacity, and to ensure the satisfaction of applicants by acting as a direct guide to the hiring process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Aggressively and cheerfully perform or ensure performance of any and all activities necessary to improve and maintain the highest possible Human Resources customer service experience. Assist the Management team in the implementation of onboarding by facilitating paperwork, meetings, composing, and distributing information to employees, etc. and acting as liaison between the dealership and the applicant. Handle secretarial duties for the HR Director and other department managers. Handle phone messages, appointments, schedules, etc. Maintain a clean record of employee new hired files and reference material. Assist HR Manager with monthly mini audits on new applicant forms inventory time punch, compliance, etc. Act as contact person for all claims submitted to Human Resources by new hire applicants. With department managers, coordinate bringing applicants before a hiring committee. Supervise sending applicants for pre-employment drug screens and monitor results. Develop job descriptions for all dealership positions; update as necessary. Coordinate exit interviews and separation work. Other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a Human Resources role preferred Knowledge of basic HR functions Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR databases PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Duties are performed primarily at a desk in an office setting. Work includes frequent clerical and administrative responsibilities and interaction with managers and employees. Prolonged periods of sitting. Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times. Occasional attendance at social gatherings. Ability to travel occasionally.
