See yourself working here As a BESS Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of Ausgrid’s energy innovation. You’ll lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver optimal technical solutions across our BESS portfolio. Your work will span: Technical leadership in metering, HV connection, civil construction, and BESS layout and performance. Specification and sourcing of HV, MW, protection, and BESS equipment. Risk management and strategic planning to ensure project viability. Integration of commercial and regulatory considerations into technical development. Stakeholder engagement to align projects with Ausgrid’s strategic goals. Contribution to regulatory engagement and grant funding opportunities. Establishment of consistent standards and knowledge sharing across the organisation. Supplier contract management and governance adherence. Delivery of executive-level reporting and presentations. What you bring to the role Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values. To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience in grid-scale BESS development, design, construction, and operations. Strong knowledge of high voltage network infrastructure. Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. Ability to drive consensus among technical specialists. Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project. Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. Experience as Owners Engineer or Chief Engineer in grid-scale BESS or large-scale renewable energy projects.
